Kelsey Bourgeois is a Chicago based writer, advocate and connector. She makes her living by causing trouble for good as an Advocacy Communications Coordinator at Care2, a progressive advocacy company.
In her free time she volunteers for the ACLU staffing a hotline for women under 18 seeking abortions in Illinois and creating spaces for women to connect with and support one another. She has made a name for herself in the advocacy world and in her personal networks by always standing up for women and challenging the way they are portrayed in media, treated in the work place, public or personal relationships and disadvantaged by institutions. Kelsey is committed to clear, honest and kind communication and her personal friends and work colleagues often tap her as a resource for crafting delicate, diplomatic and nuanced communication under stress.
In a former life, Kelsey was an accomplished and well-known yoga instructor, yoga teacher trainer and yoga retreat coordinator. Though she considers herself a lifelong yogi, these days the physical activities that light her up are aerial arts, burlesque and pole dancing.
